Christmas gift 2019

This post is a translation of a Swedish original.

It is finally time for this year’s Christmas gift from Hagström Consulting (it has been delayed a little due to reasons:). This year SEK 10,000 goes to an organisation that brings together a number of exciting people working on openness, and that needs a little encouragement to grow and become bigger. Open Knowledge Sweden (OKSE) is the Swedish chapter of the Open Knowledge Foundation, which among other things is behind The open definition and CKAN.

The open definition has been important for building consensus on what ”open” means and has been an important tool for me in my work (even if the definition could be even clearer:).

OKSE’s work to increase openness and reduce corruption, funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers, is important and interesting, and I look forward to all the exciting things OKSE will deliver in the future.

Previous recipients of the Christmas gift are Näthatsgranskaren (a Swedish organisation reporting online hate) 2018, Wikimedia Sweden 2017 and Musikhjälpen (a Swedish charity fundraising event) in Örebro 2016.
